Kisunla™ (donanemab-azbt)
Kisunla™ is an advanced monoclonal antibody therapy designed to help slow cognitive decline in adults with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease.
Developed as a targeted amyloid plaque therapy, Kisunla works by helping the body remove abnormal amyloid-beta protein deposits in the brain — one of the key biological features associated with Alzheimer’s disease progression. (European Medicines Agency (EMA))

- Targets amyloid plaques directly in the brain
- Designed for patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease
- Administered as a once-monthly intravenous infusion
- Supports preservation of daily functioning and independence (Drugs.com)
How It Works
Kisunla contains donanemab-azbt, a monoclonal antibody that binds to amyloid-beta plaques in the brain. This activates the body’s immune response to help clear plaque buildup associated with Alzheimer’s disease progression. (European Medicines Agency (EMA))
Indication
Kisunla is indicated for:
- Adults with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease
- Patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild dementia stage associated with Alzheimer’s disease (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)
Administration
- Given as an intravenous (IV) infusion every 4 weeks
- Administered under medical supervision
- Patients may require MRI monitoring during treatment to evaluate safety and treatment response (European Medicines Agency (EMA))
Why Choose Kisunla
Kisunla represents a new generation of Alzheimer’s treatment focused on targeting the underlying biology of disease progression rather than only managing symptoms. It offers a precision-based therapeutic approach for eligible patients in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
Important Safety Information
Kisunla may cause serious side effects including amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) such as brain swelling or bleeding. Treatment should only be managed by qualified healthcare professionals with appropriate monitoring. (Drugs.com)
